A Peaceful Evening
THESE ARE A FEW OF OUR FAVOURITE THINGS
-
Best way to lose a couple of hours: getting lost in the higgledy-piggledy rooms, staircases and corridors of York House antique & gift shop in Richmond
-
Best secret cup of tea and slice of cake: The Old Curiosity Shop in Barnard Castle. There's only one table, hidden at the back.
-
Our favourite bike ride: along Stang Lane to Reeth via the CB Inn - it's a proper leg warmer!
-
Best picnic spot: Amongst the purple heather on Barningham moor, near the little bridge and stream
-
Our favourite thing to do for fun: Wetheriggs Animal Rescue Centre - get your fix of feeding everything from lamas & goats to peacocks & guineapigs.
-
Our favourite dog walk: Barnard Castle to Cotherstone along the River Tees (& back after lunch at the Fox & Hounds)
-
Best place to watch the sun set: Sitting on the bench at the top of our field
-
Best place to get a really good steak: Stoneygate Farm Shop - amazing steak night every Friday
-
Best dog friendly pub: Milbank Arms - cosy up in front of the open fire with your four-legged friend
-
Our favourite mushroom spotting location: Hamsterley Forest
-
Best rainy-day activity: a good book in front of the log fire in your cottage. Or boots on and hit those puddles...!
-
Our favourite waterfalls: sorry, we can't narrow this down to less than 2 - High Force and Aysgarth Falls
-
Best way to reach the stars: on a clear, dark night there is nowhere better to lose yourself amongst the stars and galaxies than Grassholme Observatory!
